Digital Hearing Aid: Hear Better, Live Better

Article by Ideal Hearing Aid

If you are one of the many who are a little hard of hearing, then its high time that you do something about it as, this problem which can be very discomforting and troublesome, can agitate even the calmest of people. But now there is a solution in the form of hearing that help in the clear and correct perception of speech and sound patterns, which have come as a boon for people suffering from hearing loss.

Its Time to go “Digital”

The latest technology in hearing, which is creating a stir among people worldwide, is the digital hearing aid. These hearing basically make full use of computer technology in the “cleaning” and the “correction” of speech patterns and making it audible for an individual. A digital hearing aid consists of a microphone, which is used to take in the sound and speech, an amplifier, which is used to remove the distortion and the noise from it, and a speaker that finally transmits the clean and distortion free sound to the ear.

Types of Hearing

Basically there are two types of hearing that are available and are the most popular. These are “open fit hearing aid”, which is the most conventional type of digital hearing aid where the device can be seen worn behind the ear and has helped a lot of people, and “in ear hearing aid”, which are the more advanced and evolved type of hearing where the device is placed inside the ear and the hearing is much better as compared to others.

The Advantages

In the case of a digital hearing aid, one can see the the following requisite advantages:

Comfort – These are very comfortable to wear and at the same time the amplified speech patterns don’t produce any high intensity sounds.Digitalization – With the use of digital computer technology, everything from the amplification to the transmission is very immaculate and of top quality.Inexpensive – The hearing aid prices is another factor that acts in its favor, as these are very cost effective and can be termed as cheap hearing aids.

Hence, it can be said that hearing in their “digital” forms are the best hearing to be offered to the people today.

IdealHearingAid.com is your highest source for top of the line Digital Hearing Aids at a fraction of the cost. We sell two different types of Digital Hearing Aid, an open fit hearing aid and our in ear hearing aids.

Question by : Is it bad for my speakers or my amplifier to provide more than needed power to my speakers?
If I have 2 front and 2 rear speakers that put out 100 RMS and 200 peak each speaker if I provide those speakers with 125 RMS and 250 peak power per a speaker is it bad for either the amplifier or the speakers? I heard somewhere and I can’t remember where that it’s actully better for the sound quality of the speaker and doesn’t ruin it, is this true?

its better if its over simpy because u can always adjust ur gains on ur amp unlike if ur amp was under it would already at its max!

Digital Hearing Aid: A Panacea for Hearing Impaired Person

Article by Hearing Central

In the United States, 1 in every 10 persons has developed hearing problem either gradually or all of a sudden. This phenomenon persuades audiologists to accept as a mere option to treat hearing loss. Started from analog machines, hearing have made significant improvement in terms of generating as well as processing sound. Of late, the market is flooded with digital aids, which transform sound waves to digital signals. Integrated with enhanced processing and specifications, a hearing aid has mainly come in two different models – behind-the-ear (BTE) and completely-in-the-canal (CIC). In fact, both these models have been well received by audiologists and consumers.

Advantages of digital over analog:While talking about amplifying the sound, digital aids have outclassed analog counterparts altogether. The latter picks up sound waves through a microphone and then transforms these waves into electrical signals. But during the amplification of sound, the analog device fails to enfeeble the background noise, thereby making it difficult for the wearer to recognize speech properly. On the other hand, the digital aid amplifies the speech, while obstructing the background noise. Secondly, the adjustment of sound is predominantly omitted from analog devices. But hearing are developed keeping in mind different hearing problems as well as varied noise environments.

Features of digital aids:Integrated with software algorithms to transform sound in to digital code by using mathematical calculations. Unlike analog device, the digital hearing aid is featured with wireless connectivity to access wireless signals.Digital hearing aids are capable of separating background noise from original speech.

Today, online vendors are mushrooming in the market with advanced and elegant digital hearing aids, which are customized to specific hearing problems for consumers and compatible to different noise environments. These vendors collect products from leading manufacturers and sell them at very competitive prices. All you need to do is to visit a leading hearing aids store and say adieu to hearing loss.

Question by ChriStiaN: Tools For Super Hearing…..?
I’m not hard of hearing, but are there any hearing amplifiers for the sole purpose of just having super hearing? I think it could be a lot of fun.

Ummm… I don’t know about super hearing, but I guess it would just be really loud. That would probably hurt!

Digital Hearing Aids

Digital Hearing Aids

Digital hearing aids are taking over the current hearing aid market. Providing better, more customized sound quality, these digital options are constantly changing the way we help you hear! If you recently were diagnosed with hearing loss and were told that hearing aids were a good option, you may be anxious about whether this really is a good choice for you. Many people may associate hearing aids with negative memories of a grandparent or an older friend who had aids that were HUGE and squealed all the time. Not to worry, today’s digital options are sleek and more technologically sophisticated. In the past all hearing aids were analog, and were not as small or as customizable as today’s digital hearing instruments.

Analog vs. Digital
Analog hearing aids are simply amplifiers.

Some small adjustments to pitch and loudness can be made with analogs, but these hearing aids are very limited. With analog aids, sound is taken in, processed electrically and then sent, amplified, to your ear.

Digital instruments, however, use computer processing. Sound is converted into digital codes that are more easily altered to custom fit the user’s hearing loss and preferences. This also means that the hearing aids can be adjusted to amplify less noise! Better sound quality can be made by very specific modifications to the computer chip in the hearing aid. A digital hearing aid contains various bands, channels, and often memories.

Bands are frequency (pitch) ranges that can be individually adjusted. The more sophisticated the hearing aid is, the greater number of bands will be available for modification. Adjustment of these bands allows the audiologist or hearing specialist to adjust hearing aids to a user’s hearing loss. For example, a person may have more hearing loss in the high pitches, band adjustment will allow for greater amplification at high pitches, with less at low and mid pitches.

Channels allow compression settings to be adjusted in specific frequency (pitch) ranges. Compression is what limits a hearing aid from over-amplifying certain pitches. For example, a hearing aid can be set so that if your waitress drops a tray of glass plates in front of your table, the sound will not be so suddenly loud and (possibly) painful to your ears. Instead there will be a limit to how much the hearing aid will amplify.

Use of computer processing also allows for multiple “memories” or programs a hearing aid may have. Each program can be set to a different need. Perhaps you coach football at a local high school. Practices and games may be a little noisier than at home. You may have one program for quiet settings (like home) and another for those noisier situations (like practice and games) that amplifies less. These changes can be automatic or may require a simple push of a button. Only a few or many programs may be available, depending on your digital level.

Ready for Digital?
Discuss your hearing aid options with your hearing healthcare professional today. Analog hearing aids are still appropriate and a more cost-effective option for some. Digital technology, however, provides great sound quality and is often the better choice. Your audiologist or hearing specialist will be able to help you make the decision about digital hearing aids today!
