It has nothing to do with the TV itself. The difference is in the signal reception. You don’t need to go out and buy a new TV unless you want high definition, 3D or other capabilities. Analog signals (if I’m correct) go through an antenna system, what people had on their roofs back in the day. Digital goes through a satellite system which is the norm now. All you need to do is get a converter box that will transfer the analog signal to a digital system. Unfortunately, you will be limited as far as the channels you can receive without upgrading to full cable or dish. My TV, as well as many other peoples’, are well over 5-10 years old, and it works just fine. I have cable (not allowed to have a dish where I live) with over 200 channels, and the clarity is great.
